Launch and Landing Ramp


This is the first plan, and everybody should have this set. it will cost you less than $100, and the number of things you can do with it are unlimited. place them regular with a gap, and you have a little jump box, place them in 90° and you have a hip. place them off center, and you have a transfer. place the launch against the wall and you have a fakie wall ride, place the launch and landing against a wall at some angle and you have a wallride,...


SHOPPING LIST

  • 2 plates from 122 x 244 cm (4 by 8 feet) and 18mm (3/4 inch)
  • 1 plate from 122 x 244 cm (4 by 8 feet) and 9 mm (3/8 inch)
  • about 11 studs from 5 x 10 cm (2 by 4's) and 240 cm (8 feet) long
  • good wood screws (lots)

CAN WE BUILD IT? YES WE CAN!

  • Start by drawing all the lines like on the plan, and also draw the curve (see template on how to) on 1 of the 18mm plates.
  • saw the wood
  • Cut all the studs so that 1 side from 18mm + 1 side from 18mm + stud = width of the other 18mm plate. (this should be 118,6 cm, but make it fit)
  • Attatch the studs to the transitions like shown on the plan. place a stud every about every 20 or 25 cm.
  • First saw the top part of the launch and fix it.
  • Saw the top part of the landing, you can angle the saw, so the top and landing will fit smooth.
  • add the top part, and add the rest of the plate to the landing area. starting from the top. the plate should run until about the last strait stud. (if it doesn't than your a bad boy. no, you should have one 2by4 left, place it half under the end of the plate)
  • now saw the first layer for the launch ramp, mesure so it goes from the top untill it hits the ground. cut it and add it.
  • saw the second layer. it should go from the top again, and hit the ground, but a bit further than the first layer. fix it.
  • if you want, you can add a metal lip, but you don't need to. do this so skateboarders also can use it.
  • now with the rest of the 9 mm plate, you can add a first layer on the landing ramp, between the end of the 18mm plate and the ground.
  • also add a second layer, so everything should be smooth
  • you can also add a metal lip again, it's up to you
  • go play with your new best friend.
