In all this world there has never been a trick that screamed out 'PRO RIDER' more than 540's on a vert ramp.  Well, street and dirt have really been pushing the sport and now it's almost becoming commonplace to see riders doing 360's over everything.  In fact, the 360 has become such a standard trick that a rider really needs to learn variations such as barspins and no-footers to make a 360 more impressive.  The same has come true with 540's on vert ramps.

But when you push the spinning further- to the 720 on street/dirt and the 900 on vert then you are in a whole different ballgame.  Suddenly the trick is MUCH more respectable.  In fact, the 900 is still considered one of the most incredible vert tricks in the world.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #1

PREREQUISITES: Small 180s on quarter pipes, then build it up to bigger 180s and just get the hang of spinning in the air

VARIATIONS: No/one Footer 360, one/no hander 360, Barpsin 360(truckdriver), even backflip 360

DESCRIPTION: Find a small jump that gives you a bit of air and has some landing space.

Head towards it at a moderate speed, and as you are leaving the lip of the jump start turning to the left (or right).

Then when you are leaving the jump and going into the air, turn your head as much as you can to the left (or right) if you turn your head and look in the direction you want to spin (maybe help with your shoulders and arms a bit) the rest of your body and bike will follow.

Most likely, you will land on your back tire and have to pivot the rest of the 360 out on your back tire. So you can use your brakes, or just pedal out.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #2

PREREQUISITES: Bunnyhop 180's on the ground

VARIATIONS: barspin, no-footed, tabletop, x-up

DESCRIPTION: It would be a great idea to learn this trick on a tabletop jump. It will be less pain if you bail. I will describe it if you spin left to right.

First, set your feet so your left foot is back and your right is front. You don't need to go real fast.

Second, as you hit the lip or the coping, turn your bars to the left and turn your head. Where your head goes, the body goes. You can use your hip and your feet to 'spin the frame'.

Third, when you see the landing, keep your eyes on it so you will stop spinning.

Land your back wheel just before the front wheel.

Don't be scared to try it, it's less difficult then it sounds and the more you're scared, the less you'll spin. Also, try to keep the front end a little bit higher then the backend.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #3

DESCRIPTION:  First, put on a few pads or at least long clothes. Then find a tabletop jump that is fairly tall, 4 feet or more.

Head at it JUST fast enough to make it up the lip.

Just as your front wheel gets to the lip bunny hop. Turn your whole body the way you want to spin. turn your bars also.

Try using your hips to move the back end, like a kick out. Your first try you might only get 90 degrees around, but keep trying. The more your want to spin, the faster you should go.

The hardest part is not preparing to fall. When you get to 90 degrees, your body wants to lock up and bail. You have to just huck it. If your only getting around 90 degrees, just spin harder.

After that it is just progression.

When trying them going fast over big doubles, make sure you land straight, if your too far under/over rotated then you will fall, hard, and if your just a little under/over then you slow down and case the next set, bad thing.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #4

PREREQUISITES:  180's and any other basic rotating tricks such as 90 degree transfers

VARIATIONS: No handed, no footed, nothinged would look cool, even a backflip 360

DESCRIPTION: 1) pedal, got that? go to step two

2)  Hit the jump that you're really comfortable with.

3)  You may want to hit it a little bit faster than normal though, I find it a little easier, your first instinct is to go slow, but you don't catch the air you need going slow, don't be afraid to get another pedal or two in.

4)  When your front tire is almost at the lip you want to turn the bars, your head, your hips, and your bike all into the direction you want to turn.

5)  As you are in the air you feel like you want to bail. Just hang on and see where you land, if you don't make it, try and rotate harder.

6)  As you come around and see your landing keep your eyes planted on it. DO NOT take your eyes off the landing until you land!  It keeps you focused on where to go.

7)  Roll away, perfect it, brag to women and friends everywhere you go!

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #5

PREREQUISITES:  Really just some balls and to learn faster...flat ground 180s helps a lot too

VARIATIONS: 360 1-hander, 360 no-hander, 360 1-hand 1-foot, 360 x-up, 360 barspin, 360 tailwhip, 360 tabletop, 360 turndown, 360 whatever...be creative

DESCRIPTION: 1. Feel safe on the bike your riding and the jump you'll be hittin'...feeling more confident will help you ten fold

2. Tryin' 360s over a tabletop will save you lots of skin and anger...biffin real hard on a double is not fun.

3. When your ready to attempt a 360...try and get lots of speed, some rider said if you don't go hard and fast...your going nowhere...so speed is good to make sure you make the landing.

4. As soon as you start to come of the transition, immeadiately turn your bars like 90* and turn your head the same way...like your tryin to crack your back, jerk your body around hard so that you'll get a good rotation.

5. When you see (if you can) yourself at 180 start to straighten out your bars and head so that you can spot your final destination...the landing

6. When you spot the landing aim your bike straight for it regardless...it'll work just have faith, sometimes nosediving down is a lil hard at first thats why its good to start the rotation fast then slow it down at 180 so you have more control of your landing.

7. Hit the landing, roll away and make fun of all the other kids who stand around and don't RIDE....WORD!

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #6  (720's!!!)

PREREQUISITES:  BIG 360's over dirt or box jumps

VARIATIONS: none whatsoever but I'm sure Nyquist will be doing a 720 truck sooner or later

DESCRIPTION:  The key to this trick is to spin until you land or crash... I crashed about 40 times and broke my arm before I landed one.. even after a week session the foam pits at Woodward.

Approach at fast speed.. enough to LAUNCH you over whatever it is you are clearing - and I mean L-A-U-N-C-H!!!!!

Ok, when the 180 is done you should already have your head and shoulders turned to the 540 position.

The next part is crucial - if you are used to 360s the brain tells you to stop spinning at that moment, but you need to have your head at the 680/700 position at the 360/400 point. ( i know it sounds impossible but it is.. use your shoulders!!!!)

You need to have your head 180 degrees at whichever point you are.

When you finally reach the 600 point you will be ready to land. There is no way you can judge your landing. If you land... mad props from your friends.. if you crash.. mad props from your friends.. its a win win situation..

Make sure you do exactly what you do for a 360 except make the air BIGGER (more speed (bunny hopping off lip) and having you head/neck/shoulders 180-200 degrees from the point you are in your spin.
